About Us
Fika (fee-ka) is the Swedish custom of taking a moment to slow down and appreciate the good things in life. I create wheel-thrown and hand-built pottery pieces with the aim of adding joy and mindfulness to your daily rituals such as taking a moment for yourself to sip your morning coffee or tea in your handcrafted mug to enjoying a tumbler of wine with friends. Through my products, I hope to inspire people to be present, feel connected and to make fika a part of their everyday lives.
Hello, my name is Lisa and I am the maker of Fika Ceramics.
I took my first pottery class in Kingston during my last year of university. Since then I've been doing it as a hobby on and off for many years, taking courses from talented instructors while living in Halifax and Victoria. During the end of 2020, I decided to take the leap and start my small business, Fika Ceramics. I work out of my home studio in Ottawa, where I spend my days handcrafting pieces that I hope will bring you as much joy as it brings me when I create it.
